Hey! Thanks for your interest in attending Needs & Offerings, a monthly gathering at Rock Point hosted by Maris, Lena, and nico.

What’s Needs & Offerings?

Needs & Offerings is a community practice towards permanent organization. We start with fire and singing; we talk about “what time it is on the clock of the world” and what it means to live in these times. We share a meal, and work together to learn skills that equip us to be organized, all the time, in service of life and community. We conclude each gathering with a ‘needs and offerings practice,’ in which we ask folks to share needs or offerings, and take time to make those connections.

Where and when is it?

20 Rock Point Road, every first Sunday of the month from 4:30 – 6:30pm, although we often run a little over.

Head over the bridge that crosses the bike path, stay right, and go to the end of the road. You can park in the big parking lot. We begin at the fire pit, which is behind the chapel (the building on the left). We’ll eat in the building on the right.

Should I come to Needs & Offerings?

You might enjoy this community practice if you…

What do we practice?

Dinner · relational skill-building · mutual aid · songs

  • Creating a non-tech based communications system by meeting the same time and place every month, and sharing information verbally
  • Navigating challenges in organizing and community, from conflict to confusion about how to get involved
  • Deepening listening skills and ability to collaborate across difference
  • Building a web of connections beyond our inner circle
  • Intertwining reverence for our beautiful planet with struggles for a more just world

How is Needs & Offerings different from other kinds of organizing?

This is a gathering, not a meeting.

We do activities and connect with each other, but there is no agenda or notes document. We are not oriented around a specific campaign or goal, beyond our broad vision for permanently organized community. You can come just once, but it’s delightful to build community over time! You are welcome to show up as you are, even if you aren’t feeling extroverted or wanting to participate a ton. We always sing and we always eat. We are here to be people on the earth, not militant robots forging towards a predetermined objective.
